Welcome Message From The Conference Chair

African development and transformation efforts have been slower than expected predictions despite many strategic programmes and interventions targeted at her progress. International aid flows and governmental budgets earmarked for essential development projects have been dwindling and there is no sight to its end. This is because of the old mindset of doing things and the fact that there is an apparent lack of collaboration between corporate organizations, political institutions, traditional institutions, religious institutions, and academic institutions.

Clearly, the COVID-19 pandemic, the ongoing earthquakes around the world, the ascendancy of flood risk disasters, hurricanes, wildfires, sustained drought, climate change and climate variability among others are pushing the planet earth to the brink, threatening food, water, and energy security, globally. This calls for collaborative and concerted effort from business, political, traditional, and academic leaders to design innovative and practical solutions to address current problems and prepare for the next pandemic. This can only happen through the application of new sustainable methods of doing things, thus directing our attention to Responsible Business Actions, Corporate Giving and Green Mindset Orientation.

There is therefore the need to bring together all stakeholders to the table to discuss the future of the planet earth and the procedures, approaches and contributions that will support sustainable lifestyles.  Corporate organizations and institutions of all forms are encouraged to be responsible in promoting sustainable development goals and sustainable lifestyle. It is about time we tried new workable solutions, whilst preparing for the next pandemic, and that is what exactly ICESDA attempts to do.

It is about time we tried new workable solutions, whilst preparing for the next pandemic, and that is what exactly the conference attempts to do.
